The Breeding Farm is the base structure that accepts two parent Pals and produces the Egg. Unlock it in the Technology tree, place it at your base, then assign one male and one female Pal directly to the farm.

For standard combinations, Palworld normally determines the child by averaging hidden breeding power values from both parent Pals and matching the result to the closest breedable Pal. Fixed special combinations are handled separately from this standard formula.

Two parents of the same species usually produce that same species. This is useful when you want to preserve species while pursuing passives.
Some fixed parent pairs always produce a specific child and can override the normal breeding-power result. Gender direction can matter for a small subset.
Cake is the gate for breeding progress. Put Cake where the Breeding Farm can use it, then confirm the parents stay assigned long enough for an Egg to appear.
If no Egg appears, fix Cake supply and farm assignment before assuming the parent pair is invalid.
